Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist and commentator, who works for NBC News in Washington D.C. she is a TV anchor. She received an Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania after growing as a child in New York City. Mitchell started working as a TV and radio reporter at KYW Radio and TV in Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. 1996, she joined WDVM-TV Washington DC, a CBS-affiliated station (then WTOP). Then she joined NBC News Washington two years later as general reporter. Beginning in 1981, she began covering the White House and became chief of the congressional reporter in 1988. Then, in 1992 she was made Chief White House Correspondent and in 1994, she was named chief foreign affairs reporter for NBC News. Mitchell was a panelist for the TV show Meet the Press and also hosted the program. She participated as a member of the panel at 1988 Presidential Debates between George Bush, and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married with Alan Greenspan, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell won the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism in 2005, which was awarded by the John F. Kennedy School of Government. The Radio-Television News Directors Association awarded Mitchell Leonard Zeidenberg Award in 2004 to recognize her efforts in protecting First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell began covering the White House for NBC News between 1981 and 1988 during the entirety of the terms of President Ronald Reagan. She covered many notable stories such as weapons control, the budget tax as well as the Iran Contra scandal. Mitchell also went to numerous summits in the company of the President Reagan with Mikhail Gorbachev.
